Posted by Jason at May 9, 2003 2:06 PM | TrackBackI dunno, I loved Crypto, and I'm sure I'll read the new one in time, but am I the only one who finds the thought of what's sure to be another massive tome "following the Shaftoe, Waterhouse and Root family line back to the early 18th Century" vaguely exhausting?
Posted by: Matt at May 10, 2003 10:31 AM | Permalink to CommentQuite frankly, I find everything he writes vaguely exhausting. Stephenson always seems to fizzle towards the end, and has always appeared to desperately need a firm editor.
And yet, he also writes some really captivating scenes. So, I'll likely waste my money, but probably only on the paperback ;)
